We just completed a whirlwind trip to the States. It was especially great to spend time with our kids and grandsons at Myrtle Beach:
While in SC, we enjoyed eating some foods that we don’t usually get in China:
It was such a privilege to spend time with our gang, but our brief visit left us feeling kind of sad when we flew back to the other side of the world.
One thing, however, made this trip unique: when we crossed the International Date Line, our 35th anniversary had already begun:This was the first anniversary that we spent flying over the Arctic Ocean:
The “restaurant” was a bit crowded, but at least we were able to be together to share a special dinner on this special day!
We checked on your flight progress shortly before you crossed the dateline. So it’s like you were having a party with 400 friends. Can’t wait to see what you will do on your 50th. Happy Anniversary!
That was quite a memorable anniversary! Happy 35 years together! On Facebook, Laurie posted very cute pictures of you two lovebirds in the 70’s.
Wonderful pictures of your kids and sweet grandsons. So good to see them! What a great way to spend your anniversary, too. Thanks for sharing it with us. 🙂
Really quite amazing to see you all flying over the Arctic… always interesting how a straight line from here-to-there isn’t quite as efficient as you’d expect.
(as a related aside, currently sitting on a flight somewhere over colorado…)
