Every Thursday, farmers and vendors gather in a nearby residential community to sell their products. It is a crazy place with thousands of people and hundreds of distorted bullhorns. The sounds, smells, and variety (of products and people) are impossible to capture in photos. But here are some from last week:
Market Day

Ah, I miss this place. I love seeing all the worn faces, interesting vegetables and eels, Chinglish shirts, and people doing the Chinese squat. Classic.
I love the picture of the baby amongst the vegetables. It’s family market day!
Oh please get the elmu shirt for Eli! That is hilarious! I also want to know what those large green melons(?) are in the picture #17. So strange.
The large green fruit is durian. They can be as large as a watermelon and are covered with strong, sharp thorns, posing serious danger to the workers who collect them from trees. We have not yet eaten any, but have been told they taste better than they smell (imagine raw sewage).
